I painted some yellow Daffodils in a vase while ago.I complemented the yellow Daffodils with almost turquoise colour background and was quite happy with the result.

I'll definitely be painting more of these happy, cheery Daffodils!
Roses and carnations, floral oil painting, home decoration ideas for flower lovers
I am back to my lovely roses. I painted some David Austin roses with carnations in a glass vase. I used a square format again, and my main area of struggle was the carnations, as I couldn't capture their deep red color and had to keep coming back to it. I guess I'll be painting more carnations until I get it right.
Hope you like it!
It's available on my website at a very affordable price.
Hydrangeas and Amaryllis wall decor art,oil painting
Another oil painting from my Hydrangeas series. This time it's Amaryllis with Hydrangeas, as I wanted to pair vibrant orange, blues, and purple. It's done on a square format as well. I was getting into the mood of Hampton-style decor before painting this.

Bluebells and iris,floral painting,art gift collectible,home decor
I couldn't resist painting these Bluebells with Japanese Irises in a mason jar. I decided to use a dull yellow background to complement the blues. I gave it a slightly rustic, earthy feel with my choice of colors, and I hope you can feel it too.
It's done on an 8 by 10 inch panel and it's already sold, but if you'd like to see more like this, please do subscribe.
Roses in a ceramic vase,10 by 10 inch,oil painting,home decor,floral art gift
I have been absent from blog posts for a while but am still active in the field of painting. I have been working on a series of rose paintings and completed this one on a 10 by 10 inch panel. The roses are of the David Austin variety, which I love, and the vase is a rescued item that I found on the street.
I attempted to add a bit of a contemporary touch to this painting. It is available for purchase on my website.
Amaryllis in a spanish vase and colour purple, oil painting, home decor, gifting art
Amaryllis flowers, and how I love their vibrant colors and the way the flowers emerge seemingly out of nowhere in summer. This was the inspiration for my painting, "Amaryllis in a Spanish Vase."
I painted it alla prima in a 10 by 10 inch square format.
I used a purple background and a purple ribbon in the foreground to create harmony and tie the elements together.
Do you think it works?

Roses,carnations and silver,oil painting,floral art,home decor,gift
I have been painting a series of roses, but has been a bit slow, and I haven't completed much, which explains my absence from blogging.

White flower, honeysuckle in brown glass,oil painting on a canvas,floral art,minimalist decor,gift
Another flower addition to my white flower series paintings is the good old Japanese honeysuckle.
It is weedy and has invasive status in Australia, but it certainly makes a good still life subject.
I love its beauty and how the color of the flower changes from white to creamy white and then fades to a lovely shade of yellow. Another plus is its sweet fragrance.
The painting is done on an 8 by 10 inch canvas and has been sold, but there are more on my website if you are interested.

Lemons in a delft bowl,plate,oil painting,homedecor,art gift
I have a strong affinity for the color combination of yellow and blue, which inspired me to create a painting featuring lemons in a Delft blue bowl and plate.
To achieve a high-key effect, I deliberately chose a light-colored background.
Remarkably, the painting was completed in a very short amount of time, and it seemed to come together effortlessly.
The artwork is rendered on an 8 by 8 inch panel and is available for purchase on my website.
It would be a suitable addition to both modern and traditional homes and could serve as an excellent gift.

Passion fruit flower painting, botanical style floral, home decor or gifting
I got so excited when I saw my passionfruit vine flowering and couldn't resist picking a flower to paint. I know it means one less fruit, but I never get to harvest any fruits anyway, as the cockatoos get to them before they even ripen.
I did another almost tonal style painting of the flower. It suits many décor styles, from minimalist to shabby chic. It would also make a great Christmas gift.
It's done on an 8 by 10 inch canvas and is available on my website.

Does the blue makes it coastal style?affordable art, gift, decor or homestyling
Recently I did a painting of Lily in a blue glass bottle. In this oil painting,I used shades of blue colour for the background as I was imagining sea view, coastal style living with water view and a glass like shine on the water against a blue sky on warm sunny afternoon. In my opinion,it certainly qualifies for coastal style decor, beachouse or for homes of beach lovers.Do you agree?
It's on 20 by 10 inch unstretched canvas and needs framing to elevate it even more.

Lemons and Delft, oil painting, art gift and decor
Lemons in a Delft Bowl
I painted this a while ago. All I needed were some lemons from my garden, a Delft blue bowl, and a cloth. I enjoyed painting it, especially the fabric. I realized cadmium lemon wasn't enough, so I added cadmium yellow deep to add warmth to the chroma. How good is the ultramarine blue? I just love it!
It's done on a 6 by 6 inch gesso-primed panel. This particular painting has sold (lemon paintings always sell fast, in my opinion), but if you are interested in more paintings like this, please visit my website.

Sakura and terracotta, oil painting, floral art, gift, home decor
I have been trying to complete my sakura painting series before the spring season ends in Sydney; that means I have precisely 24 days.
I always visualize my painting before I attempt to paint it. In this painting, I wanted to transport myself to a field with blossoming trees, bees buzzing around, a bit of coolness still in the air with morning freshness, the sun basking on the trees, and the fragrance of nature wafting around.
My oil painting of Sakuras in terracotta earthenware against a green background with a tinge of gold is my way of showcasing nature and earth.
I imagined my painting to be in a beautiful home, bringing the same feelings to the art collector's mind. It is done on an 8 by 10-inch panel and needs framing. Available for purchase on my website.

I am not perfect!,still life ceramic painting in oil, home decor art, minimalist style
Study of a ceramic teacup, saucer, and spoon in this oil painting on an 8 by 10 inch canvas.
I called it "Imperfect" as I like to paint organically, freestyle, rather than measuring or checking whether it's perfectly round or not. I want to capture the essence of the setup, and I truly enjoy when it's done this way. After all, art is meant to be felt and enjoyed..

Magnolias oil painting,8 by 8 inch, floral art for decor or gift
I have done a series of magnolia paintings in oil but have not had a chance to write about them yet. You know how life can be unpredictable, and things don't always go according to plan.
So, I am returning to one of my planned but unfulfilled pieces.
I painted these magnolias in a Delft blue creamer that I bought from a charity shop.
Delft, a city in the Netherlands, was the major producer of these ceramics, hence the name.
It was a bit of a rush to paint these magnolias, as they are so quick to reach the leafing stage, but I managed to paint a few before their season ended here in Sydney. Pink magnolias are simply majestic, pure, and signify youth and innocence.
The painting is done on an 8 by 8 inch gesso-primed panel and is available for purchase on my website. It will suit modern to traditional, cottagehouse, farmhouse, holiday homes, rentals etc and makes a great gift for housewarming, farewell etc

Jonquils,oil painting,home decor,floral art gift, French chic
Jonquils, narcissus, wild daffodils...so many names for this beautiful flower, with heavenly fragrance and pure look.
They remind me of french country or English gardens shaded spots under which these flowers fill their presence with daintiness and perfume.
I love giving bunch of these flowers to friends and family as they last quite a while in a vase not to mention everlasting fragrance. Why not give oil painting as a gift to which will last forever? It will make a great unique decor item too.
Painted these with oil on a 8 by 10 inch panel and its up for auction on Dailypaintworks https://www.dailypaintworks.com/Account/myAuctions

Blossoms and blue,oil painting ,9 by 12 inch,home decor,gift
I paired these Indian Hawthorn blossoms with the inky blue bottle against dark background in this oil painting.
I love these shimmering blossoms in winter here in Sydney and my way of appreciating their beauty is to paint them.
For this painting,I was imagining coastal shores, beach, moody clouds even rainy days and hope my painting captured that feeling.
I imagine my paintings in various home decor styles from modern to rustic cottagehouse, holiday or rental homes and believe it depends on frame styles as well.
It's painted on a 9 by 12 inch gessoprimed mdf panel and available on my website.

Wild ones,wildflower,5 by 7 inch, floral oil painting, gift art, home decor
For an artist, lot of time goes into finding inspiration, painting, photographing etc.
Sometimes(most of the time for me) even your daily chores feels like a big task and all you want to do is paint.
Walking the dog is different though as it gives little me-time for my mind to wander and plan my next painting.I take lot of photos to get my mood board going, don't forget the sniffing time for my dog Chase!
I picked up these little colourful wildflowers while walking my dog to a park. They were growing wild among overgrown grass and shining like a jewel in the sun. They also have a nice fragrance.
My artwork wild ones is the oil painting of these flowers in a glass.
Available for purchase on my website.
Bringing outdoors Inside through art!
I love Indian Hawthorn plant as its a beautiful shrub with nice dark thick foliage, white dainty clusters of blossoms with deep red centre and bee loving. It flowers at the end of winter in Sydney and all the dropped petals remind me of little snowflakes.
Since I love it so much,it was the subject of my next oil painting.I setup a stilllife with white flowers in a ink blue glass bottle with dark blue black fabric as a background.
I was thinking coastal, beach on a cloudy days, winter white, moody dark etc and these were my inspiration for the painting.
It was my way of bringing outdoors inside.
Hope you like it.Happy art collecting!

Who doesn't love blue and yellow?
I certainly love blue and yellow and that was the inspiration in this oil painting of Blue Echiums and Daffodils. It gives me cheery vibe and hope you feel the same. This time I went straight to block-in phase instead of toning, size and placement with my tone colours(generally raw umber, yellow ochre or terra rossa).I usually rush at this stage of painting as I worry that flower might wilt.I take a photo of my setup as well. After using thinned out paint with gamsol,I started using Gamblin neomeglip medium and in the end,no medium but just thick paint out of tube.I have included pictures of my process. If you have any tips or critiques then please include them in comment section.I will be grateful!

Available for purchase on my website or Daily paintworks.
